Helen Fielding's BRIDGET JONES is to get the West End treatment.
Rumours are circulating that SHERIDAN SMITH is soon to be confirmed as the leading lady.
Fielding is adapting her book for the stage and recently tweeted "You're a bloody genius, darling. You ARE Bridget Jones" on her Twitter page to Olivier award winner Smith.
Likely to open early in 2012, the show will reunite Billy Elliot’s director Stephen Daldry and choreographer Peter Darling.
Pop star Lily Allen has written music for the musical.
