"[This] hugely entertaining one-woman song-and-gabfest... is unfailingly fresh, funny and ruefully honest... her thrilling show pushes you pretty close to ecstasy." - The Independent
"Nothing less than exhilarating" - The Times

Legendary actress and singer Elaine Stritch brings her solo Broadway show to the Old Vic this autumn. The one-woman show was devised by John Lahr for the 76-year-old Stritch, combines anecdotes from a distinguished musical and dramatic career with live music. First seen last November off-Broadway, the production was greeted with great critical acclaim and earlier this month won a Tony Award for Best Theatrical Event. Stritch, who made her first stage appearance in 1944, played Regina in Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, Grace in Inge's Bus Stop and Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Perhaps her greatest contribution to musical theatre has been her collaboration with Sondheim - The Ladies Who Lunch from Company is closely associated with her.
