SHREK THE MUSICAL TICKETS ON SALE SOON
Based on William Steig’s book Shrek! and the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, SHREK THE MUSICAL will open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in May next year.
Shrek will be directed by Avenue Q director Jason Moore and Rob Ashford, who recently directed A Streetcar Named Desire at the Donmar Warehouse.
Cutting It star and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will star as Fiona and will be joined by comedian Richard Blackwood in the role of Donkey.
Book and lyrics have been written by David Lindsay-Abaire and the show will feature music by Jeanine Tesori and choreography by Josh Prince.
The new production of Shrek The Musical is produced by DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions.
Shrek the Musical was performed on Broadway from December 2008 until last January.
Shrek will replace Oliver! at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
