Having announced yesterday the opening of new play All New People starring Zach Braff at the Duke of Yorks Theatre from 22nd February, the producers for Beatles biopic Backbeat have announced that the last show in it's West End run will take place on 18th February.

Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans are to join the cast of Ghost The Musical from 13th January to play Molly and Sam in Matthew Warchus’ stage musical version of the Academy Award® winning film. Ghost The Musical opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End in June this year where it has subsequently been playing to packed houses.

Many people were surprised that Zach Braff didn't star in his self penned play All New People in New York, but he has decided to take on the star role to make his UK debut. The play will hit the West End from 22nd February at the Duke Of Yorks Theatre for a 10 week run.

With the success of movie to stage musicals such as Ghost, now it is emerging that a contender for a new West End musical adaptation is Finding Neverland. The film starred Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet in 2004 and led to a host of Oscar nominations inspiring producer Harvey Weinstein to start developing the project as a stage musical.

Cast members, Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones and Boyd Gaines encouraged audiences attending the Wyndhams Theatre for Driving Miss Daisy to donate £13, 847.89, the largest collection that charity Acting For Others has received since the collections were initiated in 2003.

Recently the winner of the Best Actress Award at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards for her role in Flare Path, Sheridan Smith has shown she is a bonafide theatre star since taking to the stage and winning numerous awards for the lead role in Legally Blonde The Musical. Last night she took a night off and was in the audience for the press night of Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre.
