Ken Stott, Anna Friel, Samuel West and Laura Carmichael are united together on stage for the first time in one of Anton Chekhov's undisputed masterpieces, Uncle Vanya at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Adapted by Christopher Hampton, Uncle Vanya uniquely blends sparkling wit and earthy humour to brilliant comic effect.
Uncle Vanya is a mix of farce and anguish, hopeless infatuations, old grudges and ironic humour.Uncle Vanya (Ken Stott) and his niece Sonya (Laura Carmichael) have worked slavishly to sustain an estate in decline. And so it has been for years, until Sonya’s father (Samuel West) and his new wife (Anna Freil) turn this scene into a hotbed of disillusionment and consuming unrequited love.
