Following a sell-out season at the Almeida Theatre, the criticallt acclaimed Hedda Gabler transfers to the Duke of York's Theatre for a strictly limited 11 1/2 week season, from 19 May 2005.

Award-winning director Sir Richard Eyre has adapted and directs this "dynamic new version" (Sunday Times), featuring a "superb cast" (The Independent), led by Eve Best - "climbing so fast up the artistic ladder that we soon won't see her for the clouds" (The Times) - in the title role of Hedda Gabler.

Arriving home after an extended honeymoon Hedda Gabler struggles with an existence that is, for her, devoid of excitement and enchantment. Filled with a passion for life that canno be confined by her marriage or 'perfect home', Hedda strives to find a way to fulfil her desires by manipulating those around her.
