6 teachers. 3 affairs. No education can prepare you for this!

Under the Blue Sky is David Eldridge's award-winning, funny and touching play - three subtly connected love stories that reveal in turn the roller-coaster ride of lust in its prime, the sacrifices of a life in public service and its unrequited passions.

In the long shadow of the twentieth century, Eldridge’s play is a delicate yet truthful depiction of all the degrees of love - from fondness and affection through the headier extremes of a drunken romp. It gives us an all too recognisable portrayal of the way in which uncertainties, misunderstanding and the unsaid lead to unexpected results for three couples who seem destined never to say the right thing.

The stellar cast includes Francesca Annis (starring roles in numerous theatre and television productions including, most recently Lady Ludlow in the award-winning Cranford for the BBC) Lisa Dillon (many theatre credits including Present Laughter for The National Theatre and alongside Francesca as Mary Smith in Cranford), Chris O’Dowd (Roy in Channel 4’s hit comedy series The IT Crowd) Nigel Lindsay Nigel Lindsay (Lenny in the Almeida’s sell out production of The Homecoming), Channel 4’s Bafta nominated The Relief of Belsen, Jam and Jerusalem (BBC) ), Dominic Rowan (Frequent television and stage roles including Catwalk Dogs for ITV and Happy Now? for the National Theatre) and Catherine Tate (Donna Noble in the cult TV series Dr Who, The Catherine Tate Show, Some Girls (Gielgud Theatre).
