A grippingly relevant drama based on the 1925 Scopes Monkey trial. A schoolteacher is arrested for teaching his high school students Darwin’s evolution theory. In a highly religious town this is strictly prohibited by law and two legal Titans confront each other in a community where freedom of thought is put on trial.

Trevor Nunn last directed Richard II at The Old Vic and Kevin Spacey was last seen on stage at The Old Vic starring in Speed the Plow.

The Old Vic auditorium is back in the traditional proscenium arch set up after being in-the round for the last three productions.
