‘I love you. You love me.
You love Otto. I love Otto.
Otto loves you. Otto loves me’

Old Vic Associate Anthony Page directs, Tom Burke, Lisa Dillon and Andrew Scott in Noël Coward’s wickedly witty, dark romantic comedy, Design for Living. Initially banned in the UK, this provocative play returns to the London stage for the first time in over 15 years. From 1930s bohemian Paris to the dizzying heights of Manhattan society, a tempestuous love triangle unravels between a vivacious interior designer, Gilda, playwright Leo and artist Otto – three people unashamedly and passionately in love with each other.

Anthony Page has directed on Broadway, in the West End as well as for film and television. His many theatre credits include Beckett’s Waiting for Godot (Broadway), Rosmersholm (Almeida), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Broadway) and A Doll’s House, for which he was awarded a Tony Award for Best Direction. His television work includes Middlemarch (BBC).

Tom Burke won the Ian Charleson Award for Outstanding Newcomer for his role in Creditors (Donmar & Broadway). His film and television credits include Telstar with Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey and State of Play (BBC).

Lisa Dillon also won the Ian Charleson Award for Outstanding Newcomer for The Master Builder, directed by Anthony Page her other West End theatre credits
include Private Lives and Under the Blue Sky. Her television credits include Cranford (BBC).

Andrew Scott most recently filmed Sherlock, a new drama for the BBC and Lennon Naked for BBC4. He was nominated for a Drama League Award for his performance in David Hare’s The Vertical Hour (Broadway) directed by Sam Mendes and won an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2005.

Anthony Page will direct Noel Coward's provocative and unconventional romantic comedy, Design For Living, for the first time on the London stage in over 15 years.

Coward focuses on three egotistical, beguiling and self-absorbed characters – Gilda, Otto, and Leo – who challenge the moral boundaries of relationships. Anthony Page's production for The Old Vic will star Lisa Dillon and Tom Burke.
