LONDON SHOWS

Posted on 10 January 2012

If you fancy a New Year treat, then why not visit the capital and experience a variety of London shows.

From comedy, to family musicals there is something for everyone, whatever your taste, whether it be a play, dance show, or a musical and there may even be discounts throughout the month! Or why not book in advance for the upcoming half term for the kids!

The best way to search what’s on is to have a browse in the free newspapers or even search online.  The paper will give you all the show information including, timings, performance days, the location, and may provide a phone number for bookings.   This can be helpful if you want a quick purchase, however it can be worth looking around for cheaper deals or bargains.  Look for billboard posters, internet offers, 2 for 1 tickets with train companies etc etc.  There is normally a deal to be had if you look hard enough.

You may also want to go to the theatre box office in person to see what best seating options are available, and to see if any discount tickets can be bought at the door.  Sometimes the theatres have last minute returns on the night, so if you decide to visit as a last thought, then you could be in for a good deal!

If you prefer to plan ahead a bit and don’t want to leave it to the last minute to get a discount, fear not!  Ticket websites may run offers for a period of time – but check the terms conditions and validity before buying.  It is worth noting that most offers are normally valid on weekday evenings or matinees, but read the small print beforehand.  Booking in advance doesn’t have to mean paying a higher price, again its all about research.

If you are after some of the best seats for one of the current hit shows, you may struggle to find tickets, especially if it is one of the popular ones at the moment.  Unfortunately, there are not normally discounts on high selling performances, if you are lucky enough to find a deal on such a popular show, make sure the company selling the tickets are legitimate and part of the S.T.A.R group, which is the governing body for ticket sellers.

If you are suffering from the January blues, then brighten up your day and visit London shows today!
