Pina Bausch’s Bluebeard
From shades of reds, oranges and browns, crispy autumnal leaves cover the stage, upon which stands a man who insistently plays a tape recording of Bela Bartok’s short opera about Bluebeard and his prying wife, Judith. He plays it again and again! This new restaging sees dancers return to a world that sees men and women clashing, along with taboos and transgressions.
The long-awaited for restaging will be led by Helena Pikon and Barbara Kaufmann. Helena was brought into the company personally by Bausch. The show will also see two original cast members, Jan Minarik and Beatrice Libonati, return.
