More About The Show

Based at the stunning Opera and Ballet State Theatre in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, this company of “versatile and accomplished” dancers (The New York Times) has soared under the bold artistic direction of world-renowned, Georgian-born Nina Ananiashvili. A former prima ballerina with Bolshoi Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, Ananiashvili is considered one of the all-time greats, returning home to her native country in 2004 as the company’s artistic director.

What Makes It Great

Comprising a company of 70 and with a host of sumptuous sets and magnificent costumes, State Ballet of Georgia’s Swan Lake is set to be truly spectacular! From the first immortal bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, this production beckons the audience to another world entirely, as we explore Prince Siegfried’s profound love for the Swan Queen as well as the couple's battle against the evil sorcerer Rothbart. With the unforgettable corps de ballet moving in perfect unison as majestic swans to the dazzling ballroom-based scenes, this romantic fable cotunues to inspire awe and wonder amongst devout ballet fans and newcomers alike.
