The all-new play is set to make its world premiere on 25 June at the West End's Trafalgar Studios 2 for a strictly limited run lasting until the beginning of August. Don't miss your chance to blast off into escapism with this sure-fire summer hit!

What is Michael Dennis' Dark Sublime play about?

Oli is a die-hard fan of a sci-fi show from yesteryear. When he shows up at the front doorstep of the show's long-forgotten actress, Marianne, asking for an autograph, Marianne wishes nothing but the chance to be remembered for more than just her cult television role. As they explore each other's worlds, they find out that they're not exactly worlds apart after all.

Dark Sublime West End cast and creatives

Star Trek superstar and sci-fi icon Marina Sirtis steps into the role of Marianne, marking her West End stage debut in Dark Sublime, an ode to sci-fi fanatics written by Michael Dennis! Sirtis will be joined by Doctor Who writer Mark Gatiss, who was confirmed to be lending his voice for the role of a hysterical talking shipboard computer named Kosley in an announcement made earlier this year.

The Dark Sublime Trafalgar Studios cast also stars Kwaku Mills (The End of Eddy) as Oli, Jaqueline King (Doctor Who) as Kate, Simon Thorp (Royal Shakespeare Company) as Bob/Vykar, and Sophie Ward (Jane Eyre, Young Sherlock Holmes) as Suzanne.

Michael Dennis' Dark Sublime is directed by the award-winning Andrew Keates (Dessa Rose, As Is) and features music by composer Matthew Strachan, design by Tim Mcquillen-Wright, and lighting design by Neill Brinkworth. The show is produced by Jamie Chapman Dixon and Piers Cottee-Jones of Rigmarole Productions in association with Arion Productions - J W Carter Productions and M Green Productions

He may be a relatively new playwright, but Michael Dennis is certainly no newcomer to London theatre. As a stage manager, he has worked on Future Conditional (The Old Vic), Sex and Strangers (Hampstead Theatre), The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide To Capitalism And Socialism (Hampstead Theatre), The Recruiting Officer and Anna Christie (Donmar), The James Plays (National Theatre of Scotland, NT, Edinburgh International Festival), and Oppenheimer (RSC).

Cheap West End theatre tickets for Dark Sublime, a love letter to sci-fans

Dark Sublime was originally in talks for a run at London's Bush Theatre, a venue known for up-and-coming artists and playwrights whose works often end up transferring to the West End. Michael Dennis has managed to bypass this formality by taking his superb play, Dark Sublime, straight to the West End stage! London's Trafalgar Studios is about to get out of this world this summer. Don't miss out on this highly-anticipated play by Michael Dennis!
