Michael Keegan-Dolan/Teac Damsa present the UK premiere of MÁM at Sadler’s Wells Theatre

Award-winning Sadler’s Wells associate artist Michael Keegan-Dolan recently earned himself a flurry of five stars following his reimagining of Swan Lake that saw the Sadler’s Wells stage a blur under white feathers. Following his acclaimed production, Keegan-Dolan along with the Teac Damsa company presents the UK premiere of Mám. The show will begin performances at London’s Sadler’s Wells on 5 February 2020 for what will be just a 3-day engagement. So, be sure to book your Mám tickets whilst availability lasts!

What is Mám?

Mám is a word from the Irish language which means mountain pass. It describes the point at which two sides of a mountain are connected. It was from this word that the inspiration for this show was drawn from. Whilst Mám is a passageway, it is also the middle point of two different sides. The show explores how life’s polarities can often connect from time to time in order to come together and find a solution.

In this production, Mám acts as a meeting place for a soloist and an ensemble, and highlights the contrasts between classical and traditional, and local and universal, whilst simultaneously connecting them. The show brings together the remarkable Irish concertina player Cormac Begley, with the classical and contemporary s t a r g a z e, and 12 brilliant dancers from the Teac Damsa company.
