What is Orpheus Descending about?

Welcome to a small Southern community full of repression, judgement and intolerance where people live what appear to be ordinary, boring small town lives. Lady is trapped in a loveless marriage with an ailing husband. When a guitar-wielding charismatic drifter appears in town, new possibilities full of passion and change open up and secrets from the past come to the surface. Nothing will remain as it is when fact, convention and tradition are torn apart.
