Richard Alston choreographed his first work in 1968. Now, 50 years later, he celebrates this landmark with Mid Century Modern, a piece which draws on the span of his work.
Alston’s newest piece is set to Schumann’s work for piano, Carnaval, inspired by the composer’s complicated personality. Carnaval is played live by pianist Jason Ridgway. With costumes by Alston’s previous collaborator, BAFTA Award-winning designer Fotini Dimou.
Following the critical success of Tangent last summer, Martin Lawrance’s latest creation completes this triple bill.
