The Man in the White Suit synopsis

Sidney Stratton (Stephen Mangan) invents a fabric that can’t get dirty and will never wear out. Instead of being lauded for this creation, manufacturers and trade unions are terrified by the threat it poses to their industry and to their jobs. These groups, which are usually at odds with each other, come together to protect their best interests. Only Daphne (Kara Tointon), the mill owner’s daughter, seems to support Sidney as he finds himself on the run from the bigwig bosses whilst workers chase “the man in the white suit.” This fast-moving comedy reunites dream duo Stephen Mangan and Sean Foley after their Olivier award-winning production, Jeeves and Wooster.
