Perfect summer fun for Kids - Dinosaurs in the open air!

Posted on 30 July 2013

After wowing audiences in Australia and then making their way over to the South Bank earlier this year, Dinosaur Zoo will take residence at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre for a month this summer.  The amazingly life-like dinosaurs are a mixture of puppetry, electronic wizardry and theatrical showmanship and are likely to have children's jaws dropping with excitement.

The models have been created with careful consultation with paleontologists for an accurate as possible representation of these wondrous beats.

The presentation lasts just 50 minutes, so not too taxing for the little ones, then after the show children brave enough will get the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the dinosaurs on the nearby picnic garden.  The show's recommended content age is three and over in case very young children get too spooked by the more ferocious creatures, however all ages are admitted.  Children under the age of two are classed as babes in arms and will not need a ticket.

The Regent's Park Open Air Theatre is the perfect setting for this unique show, especially with the 'meet and touch' option on the way out.  The uncovered venue only opens for a spring/summer season between May and September, and although we can cross our fingers for blazing sunshine, patrons should be prepared for all kinds of weather.   In the rare event that the show has to be cancelled tickets can be exchanged for another performance in the summer schedule.

Dinosaur Zoo London plays on late mornings and early afternoons between 9 August and 8 September, so a perfect centrepiece to a day out in the sprawling park itself.  Kids' fascination with dinosaurs is widespread, and being both educational and fun, this unique experience is one not to be missed!
