Further cast announced today for Urinetown The Musical are Alasdair Buchan (Swing), Christina Modestou (Swing), Kane Oliver Parry (Robbie The Stockfish) and Vicky Lee Taylor (Swing).

It is great that the brilliantly talented Simon Paisley Day is reprising the role of Caldwell B. Cladwell for our run at the Apollo Theatre. I am also thrilled that Matthew Seadon-Young will be getting the opportunity to play Bobby Strong. He is an extraordinary talent and very much a rising star to watch. I am looking forward to what he will bring to the role for our West End audiences. I saw Nathan Amzi’s fantastic performance in In The Heights, and obviously he is well known for his recent stint on the BBC’s hit show The Voice UK, and I know he will add another dimension to our multi-talented cast”.

Director Jamie Lloyd’s critically-acclaimed, sell-out production of Urinetown The Musical, with music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, will transfer to the Apollo Theatre from 29 September 2014. Richard Fitch is the Associate Director.
The production is designed by Evening Standard award winner Soutra Gilmour with choreography by Ann Yee, lighting design by Adam Silverman, sound design by Terry Jardine & Nick Lidster, casting by David Grindrod Associates, wig & hair design by Richard Mawbey, fight direction by Kate Waters, orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin and musical supervision & direction by Alan Williams.

Urinetown, the splashback hit musical originally ran on Broadway to great acclaim from 2001 until 2004 and was nominated for TEN Tony Awards, and won for Best Book, Best Score and Best Direction. In addition, it also won three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, two Obie Awards and the Drama League Award for Best Musical.
Simon Paisley Day was most recently on stage in Urinetown: The Musical at the St James Theatre. Simon has worked extensively at the National Theatre including; Twelfth Night, Anything Goes, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Coast Of Utopia, Albert Speer, Hamlet, Candide, Troilus and Cressida, Money and Oh What a Lovely War! Simon’s other stage credits include The Low Road and The Ugly One both at the Royal Court, The Taming of the Shrew and Timon of Athens both at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Private Lives at the Music Box Theatre, New York & The Vaudeville, London, Entertaining Mr. Sloane at Trafalgar Studios, The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre, Don’t Look Now at the Lyric Hammersmith, The Philanthropist at the Donmar Warehouse, Cymbeline and Twelfth Night at Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, By Jeeves! at Scarborough and The Duke of York’s Theatre and A Woman of No Importance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Most recently he wrote the comedy Raving, which was directed by Edward Hall and enjoyed a sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre. Matthew Seadon-Young’s theatre credits include Urinetown The Musical at the St James Theatre as Robbie the Stockfish, The Architects at the Biscuit Factory, School for Scandal at the Theatre Royal Bath, She Stoops to Conquer at the National Theatre and Les Miserables at the Queens Theatre. Matthew’s screen credits include Pride and Les Miserables.
