BLOG : Symptoms Of Thespianism

Billy Elliot Wednesday 29 April 2015

Could Thespianism be affecting somebody close to you?  Thespianism (I've said many times that this should be a word) can affect us all. You might think that it only happens to people in slightly cheesy films – but the truth is that Thespianism could be affecting somebody close to you. The simple truth is that nobody is immune.

BLOG : Young Talent Of The West End: Past And Present

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Tuesday 28 April 2015

Children are an important part of most shows, you have Gavroche in Les Miserables, the Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music and obviously the title characters in Matilda, Billy Elliot and Oliver. It’s a difficult job to try and find child actors that have the talent and professional outlook needed to perform in the West End, amongst actors who have had years more training and experience.

No sooner had I said that Es Devlin and Luke Halls’ design and video work on The Nether had raised the bar to a new level for this type of thing, along comes the visually stunning production of Golem from theatre group 1927 that serves up an eye-popping blend of performance, animation and music.

★★★★★ Review: Memphis The Musical

Memphis Friday 24 April 2015

I have to say I've spent many happy hours in the Shaftebury Theatre. It is so perfectly formed with its delightful foyer and for me it always invokes a joy to be there, in the knowledge I will witness something special.   I'd wanted to see Memphis The Musical for some time and when the kind people at LondonTheatreDirect offered me the chance to realise my trip I was ecstatic!
