Performed at Trafalgar Studios 2, the intimate 100 seater in the round auditorium is perfect for a production such as this.   Elderly gentleman Jimmy (James Bolam) who lives in his flat with a life that has turned into revolving around his carer's morning visits. One day a new carer arrives replacing Ezekiel a trusted and respected worker who has returned to Africa. David (Steve John Shepherd) has troubles of his own. We soon learn that David is recovering from an attempted suicide brought on by grief over the loss of his father whom he feels responsible for. Jimmy shares grief in a different way, his is survivor's grief evolving from his experiences in numerous bombing raids over Germany during World War Two.

London's glittering West End has seen three major theatrical openings. Firstly the Theatre Royal Bath’s production of Hay Fever celebrated its official opening at the Duke of York's Theatre last Monday (11th May 2015). Lindsay Posner’s production of Noël Coward’s comedy of bad manners stars Felicity Kendal who gives a tremendous performance as Judith Bliss. Hay Fever, which first played the West End in 1925, also stars Simon Shepherd (Peak Practice/The Duck House), Michael Simkins (Yes, Prime Minister/Oh What a Lovely War) and Sara Stewart (Heartbreak House/Enron). It runs until 1st August 2015.

Initially, there was speculation that the show would replace We Will Rock You this summer at the Dominion Theatre. Well, it turns out that bit was wrong - but the rest is spot on, as it has been announced today that Motown: The Musical will be coming to London's Shaftesbury Theatre in February 2016.
