With a week to go before opening night, the stars of Chicago opening on 7th November at the Garrick Theatre were out and about in London yesterday publicising the show.

From 16 November 2011 a new cast of actors and puppeteers will join the National Theatre’s internationally award-winning production of War Horse at the New London Theatre. 

Mark Benton will join the London cast The Railway Children on 3 December to play Perks for the final six weeks of Damian Cruden’s Olivier award-winning production at Waterloo Station. 

A new 350 seat West End theatre is planned as part of the Crossrail redevelopment around Tottenham Court Road Station.  Previously the site was home to the London Astoria which was demolished in 2009.  

Darius Campbell, previously known as Darius Danesh, or simply Darius during his short-lived but surprisingly fruitful solo career first came to the public attention for a dubious version of Britney Spears' classic …Baby One More Time.

Ramin Karimloo will star as ‘Jean Valjean’ in the legendary musical Les Miserables at the Queen’s Theatre from Tuesday 29 November 2011– Saturday 3 March 2012.

According to Variety magazine, Disney who hold the rights to the project are teaming up with Sonia Friedman to bring Oscar winning film Shakespeare in Love to the stage in the West End.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera will make her British stage debut in CHICAGO.

Backbeat is the story of how The Beatles 'became' The Beatles – when John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe embarked on their journey from the famous docks of Liverpool to search for success in the seedy red light district of Hamburg.

A number of angered West End performers have added weight to a petition against Westminster Council's proposed plans to introduce parking charges of up to £4.80 an hour on evenings and Sundays.

 On 14 November 2011 Gillian Bevan (Mrs Wilkinson) and Deka Walmsley (Dad) will join the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical along with Ann Emery who returns to the cast to play Grandma, the role she originated on stage at the Victoria Palace in 2005 and played until 2010. 


With news that long running West End hit Mamma Mia! is to transfer from the Prince Of Wales theatre to the Novello theatre in September next year, rumours are already circulating about its possible replacement.  

Pop megastar Christina Aguilera flew over to the UK in order to take part in the Michael Jackson Forever tribute concert in Cardiff last Saturday.

The National Theatre's annual report for the year 2010/2011 has been published and revealed that War Horse took £13.9 million in the West End, up from £13.2 million in 2009/2010. The show has been seen by over 1.4 million people and averaged a very successful 97% attendance across the year.

The smash hit musical Jersey Boys celebrated an incredible 1500 performances in London on Wednesday 28 September at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Hit Broadway transfer Rock Of Ages, currently wowing audiences at the Shaftesbury Theatre, is to help raise money for this year's BBC Children In Need.

After playing 1304 performances and 40 previews, it has been announced by the producers that the Broadway production of Billy Elliot will close on January 8, 2012.
