Regent's Park Open Air Theatre is the current home for the umpteeth revival of classic Rogers and Hammerstein musical The Sound Of Music.  It's a musical that audiences have adored for over half a century, and this unique outdoor setting brings an extra level of magic to the heartwarming show.  The limited run show was recently forced to squeeze in an additional week due to phenomenal public demand, and the critics haven't been shy singing their praises either.

Roddy Doyle's novel-turned-film and now West End musical about a North Dublin Soul band, The Commitments, has announced the casting line up for the upcoming Palace Theatre show.  As in the plot itself The Commitments will introduce an array of fresh, young and exciting talent, alongside established musical theatre performers. The producers felt it was important to recruit and unleash a cast that is as hungry and in some cases raw as the characters they are playing.

Currently in rehearsals and based on the 1991 film of the same name, The Commitments musical will begin previews at the Palace Theatre late next month.  Novelist Roddy Doyle on whose original book the film was based, says of the youthful cast: "What amuses me most is the fact that only one of them was born when I wrote the novel."   With most of the cast hot out of drama school the show will be a great platform for their talent and a springboard for their burgeoning careers.
