SADLER'S WELLS CONTINUES TO BE LEADING DANCE COMPANY IN WEST END

In 2011, Sadler's Wells announced it's highest ever attendance with over 700,000 going to see a production at it's theatres proving that it's mix of classical and innovative dance productions whether it be ballet, hip hop, Latin American or even tribal makes it one of the most exciting venues in London.

Today the Olivier Award nominations were announced with three out of the four nomations for Best New Dance Production coming from Sadler's Wells - Desh by Akram Khan Company, Gardenia by Ballets C de la B and Some Like it Hip Hop by ZooNation.

Desh by Akram Khan Company will return to the Sadler's Wells in October for another limited run.  Taking inspiration from his homeland, Akram Khan choreographed and performed this full-length solo show in which he used his body and voice to portray several characters familiar in daily Bangladeshi culture.

Upcoming Sadler's Wells productions not be missed are:

My First Sleeping Beauty by English National Ballet
, especially created for a family audience as well as the return of the popular Pet Shop Boys and Javier De Frutos, a modern fairytale based on the Hans Christian Andersen fable, The Most Incredible Thing.

Later in May returns the ever popular Rambert Dance Company with a Mixed Bill and British Bollywood musical, Wah! Wah! Girls set in the vibrant background of East London 2012.

In the summer returning for its first revival as part of New Adventures 25th Anniversary celebration, Matthew Bourne’s Play Without Words, a sexy, chic and thrillingly original dance drama.

With so much variation of dance on offer there is something for everyone!
