Following on from last year's successful set of shows at the same venue, The National Youth Theatre present another set of three shows as part of their autumn season.
Private Peaceful is based on Michael Morpurgo's best selling novel and is both a touching account of the First World War and a compelling love story. Morpurgo also penned War Horse, which has also led to hugely successful stage and film adaptations.
Private Tommo Peaceful reminisces about his youth growing up in rural Devon, falling in love with his childhood friend Molly and addresses the cruel injustices of war that have led him to the battle fields. Love, loss, war and courage are all explored before the poignant tale's dramatic and heart-breaking conclusion.
The other shows in the season will be Macbeth by William Shakespeare, and Selfie by Peter Morris, inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
