Dead Posh Productions is thrilled to be bringing Pig Farm, by Tony Award® winning writer Greg Kotis, to the St. James Theatre for its UK Premiere. Dead Posh Productions will be co-producing alongside Julian Stoneman Associates, who brought the smash hit Urinetown The Musical, by the same author and to the same theatre, before its transfer to the Apollo Theatre. Pig Farm has a limited run at the St. James Theatre from 21 October until 21 November, with press night on 28 October. The creative team and full casting will be announced in due course.

Life on the farm is hard. Under a pot-bellied sky, Tom and Tina, with just the help of hired hand Tim, are struggling for survival and it’s taking its toll. Troubles simmer dangerously as they search for solace, then gun-toting Teddy arrives and things go from bad to worse.
Pig Farm is a hilarious tale of regular folk, human sludgery and the American dream dragged through the mud.

Katharine Farmer (Director) recently received an Indy Award for her direction of Last Train To Nibroc by Arlene Hutton at Rubicon Theatre Company in Ventura, California, which was dubbed a Critic’s Pick in The Los Angeles Times. She has subsequently been invited to return to Rubicon to direct the rest of the trilogy, commencing in January 2016 for See Rock City. Katharine has just returned from New York having directed Carey Crim’s short play Glamping at the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival and is currently directing an adaptation of The Importance of Being Earnest at the Dominion Theatre, London, as a charity fundraiser for the Duchenne Research Fund. Katharine is the company director of theatre company Dead Posh Productions, which she set up in 2012 to take Still Life (also known as Brief Encounter) to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. While producing a ‘Plays in Progress’ writing development series at Rubicon in 2013, Katharine discovered 23.5 Hours (now renamed Conviction) also by Carey Crim, which she later directed. Katharine then became the Assistant Director to Scott Schwartz on 23.5 Hours/Conviction on a co-production between Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor NY and Rubicon. She has served as Associate Producer and Assistant Director to Rubicon Artistic Director James O’Neil on the Off-Broadway production of Lonesome Traveler, which ran at 59E59 in New York earlier this year and in 2014 was Assistant Director to Jenny Sullivan on the Off-Broadway production of Wiesenthal at The Acorn in Theatre Row. Katharine was also assistant to Sir Trevor Nunn on his acclaimed production of Scenes from a Marriage at the St. James Theatre, which starred Olivia Williams and Mark Bazeley.
Greg Kotis (Writer) has written many plays and musicals including Urinetown The Musical (Book/Lyrics, for which he won an Obie Award and two Tony® Awards), which ran at the St. James Theatre and the Apollo Theatre, directed by the acclaimed Jamie Lloyd, Michael von Siebenburg Melts Through the Floorboards, The Boring-est Poem in the World, Yeast Nation (Book/Lyrics), The Truth About Santa, Eat the Taste, and Jobey and Katherine. His work has been produced and developed in theatres across the US and around the world, including Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Conservatory Theater, American Theater Company, the Eugene O’Neill National Theater Conference, Henry Miller’s Theatre (Broadway), Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Stage and Film, Perseverance Theatre, Roundabout Theatre Company, Soho Rep, South Coast Rep, and The Old Globe, among others. Greg is a member of the Neo-Futurists, the Cardiff Giant Theater Company, ASCAP, the Dramatists Guild, and was a 2010-11 Lark Play Development Center Playwrights Workshop Fellow.
