BLOG : London Bargains

Tuesday 14 June 2011

Visiting London does not have to be an expensive trip, as there are many offers, and things to do for free, which makes your trip far more exciting!

If you’re into theatre, and want to visit west end shows, you can perhaps plan a trip around a new show when it is in its previews. This means that they are public performances before critics are allowed in to review it. The idea is that they offer a system whereby shows can "work themselves out" in front of an audience before any kind of final critical judgment is passed, and that tickets will be cheaper as a result. If you look hard enough, there are London bargains to be had!

Other ways of obtaining cheaper tickets are to look out for offers, considering taking a group to take advantage of group rates, or use your student ID to get reduced rates!

No trip to London would be complete without taking a trip to Buckingham palace and witnessing The Changing of The Guard, and guess what? Its free! Just be sure to get there early, if you want a position by the gate!

Explore London’s many free Markets. Whether you’re after food, retro style clothes, music, arts and crafts or just want to browse, there's something for everyone. Do it yourself for under £10 and experience London as the locals do. All you need is a London Transport One Day bus pass and a map. Plan and read up on all the places you wish to visit, and your all set!

In the last few years there have been certain ‘deal of the day’ type websites, which can give you daily deals for restaurants, dining, attractions and things to experience. They are easy to use, and offer good savings.

There are many royal parks in London, and you can enter them for free. So when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets, take a pleasant walk through some of the best known parks, including Hyde Park in West London, and St James’s Park .
