BLOG : Stars In London: Where The Famous People Are Performing In The West End

"I wanna go where the people are..." Yes, I'm quoting The Little Mermaid but you have to admit, the more popular shows do beckon. The West End is often studded with stars and they do bring a lot of attraction. Are they as great as their reputation or are we blinded by their fame? Here are just some of those stars that are gracing the West End right now (and some to come):

Stars In London: Where The Famous People Are Performing In The West End

Rebel Wilson, yes THE Rebel Wilson, is currently starring in Guys and Dolls at Phoenix Theatre but bear in mind that she's only there until August 21st. If you haven't got you tickets yet, then don't all rush off. Yes, she's reviewed well, some even say "Pitch-perfect" if you catch the pun but there are other stars to be found (not that I'd persuade against seeing as many as possible).

There is a little more breathing space for trying to see this next star, Pixie Lott who stars in Breakfast at Tiffany's at The Theatre Royal Haymarket until September 17th. Having not done theatre since her Chitty Chitty Bang Bang debut in 2005, I expect you're wondering how this singer shapes up? Well, it seems it's not only a difficult role to take on but a difficult theatre adaptation all together, however The Guardian have said that the three songs she sings throughout are the "high point". If you're a fan though, then I'd say go and see for yourself.

Billie Piper has solidified her theatre career in the past and has always seemed to be one to be seen, what with all the rave reviews. Now she's back in the Young Vic's production of Yerma. The story follows a woman desperate to be a mother who can't have children herself. You can catch the Doctor Who star there until September 24th.

Sheridan Smith has taken the nation by storm in both theatre and television. You may know her from Mrs Biggs which she won a BAFTA for or the much talked about Cilla. She now takes to the West End again in Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre until September 10th.

If these stars don't appeal to you or it's simply to short notice then you're not to worry. The West End always has something to offer. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan will both be coming to the stage on September 8th in the much anticipated No Man's Land. There will also be Dominic Cooper in The Libertine, Andrew Scott and John Boyega (to name a few of my own favourites) coming to stage in the near future. Always keep an eye out for that star shine and remember to go and see those stars in the making too.

Loving all works of literature and drama, theatre had always been in my life but when I moved to London in 2012, and having the West End at my feet, that's when my real love began. Whilst my passion lies behind the writing and making of plays and musicals, there is nothing like seeing that brought to life.
