Having opened in 1986 The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre remains one of London’s most popular shows.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s glittering musical is the most successful off all time with more than 100 million Phantom of the Opera tickets sold worldwide and it has won over 50 major theatre awards.
Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful student Christine is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.
Adapted from Gaston Leroux's classic novel of mystery and suspense, The Phantom of the Opera features some of Andrew Lloyd Webbers best known music including All I Ask of You and The Music of the Night.
The musical opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre in October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 25th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, after more than 10,000 performances.
The current Phantom London cast features Marcus Lovett in the title role with Sofia Escobar as Christine and Simon Thomas as Raoul. Anna O’Byrne plays Christine at certain performances.
