Catherine Tate to Star in Oh, Mary! from April 2026

**Catherine Tate** will take on the role of **Mary Todd Lincoln** in *Oh, Mary!* in London’s West End from Monday 27 April to Saturday 18 July 2026, as part of a newly announced extension at the [Trafalgar Theatre](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/trafalgar-theatre-london). Tate joins the production following its acclaimed Broadway success and London transfer, stepping into one of the most outrageously comic roles currently on stage. ### **From Broadway Smash to West End Hit** The dark, camp comedy was written by and originally starred **Cole Escola** on Broadway, where it became a critical and commercial sensation. The play reimagines the weeks leading up to **Abraham Lincoln**’s assassination, transforming Mary into a thwarted, theatrical First Lady with delusions of cabaret stardom. In the West End, **Mason Alexander Park** has starred as Mary since the London premiere, earning praise for their unfiltered and downright hilarious performance.

### **Why Catherine Tate is Perfect Casting** Best known for her BAFTA-winning sketch series *The Catherine Tate Show* and her fan-favourite role as Donna Noble in *Doctor Who*, Tate’s famous character work and fearless comedy make her a natural fit for this deliriously unhinged role. ### **What to Read Next** For more on the production, revisit our full [*Oh, Mary!*](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/oh-mary-review)[ review](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/oh-mary-review) and explore our complete [character breakdown](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/characters-in-oh-mary) to get to know everyone in this fast-paced, 80-minute theatrical whirlwind.
