Heathers Review - Big Fun at The Arts at Marble Arch with the return of Heathers

Posted on
*Heathers* is finally back in the West End and we’re here to say we’ll *Never Shut Up Again* about this cult-classic musical. We took a trip to the *Candy Store* at The Arts at Marble Arch, for one of the very exclusive strictly limited performances of *Heathers the Musical*.  The show is set in a small American town, in the halls of Westerberg High, where popularity is a matter of life and death. Think *Mean Girls*, but with a dash more dark comedy and a lot more death. If you’re familiar with the 1988 film, starring **Winona Ryder** and **Christian Slater**, you’ll recognise the iconic lines and nods throughout the show. But even if you’ve never seen the film, you are in for a wild journey from an unsuspecting High School story with jocks, cheerleaders, cliques and dorks, to the inner dark thoughts of trouble teens whose ‘*teen angst bullsh*t’* has a body count.
This stellar cast is bubbling with energy and talent, with **Gerardine Sacdalan** (previously Juliet in *&Juliet* UK Tour) as Veronica Sawyer and **Louis Hearsey** as J.D., the toxic Bonnie & Clyde couple are full of chemistry. **Gerardine Sacdalan**’s rendition of *‘I Say No’* left jaws dropped in the auditorium, and now a well-earned number 1 position in my personal collection of favourite Veronicas.  **Liberty Stottor** (previously Jane Seymour in *SIX*) as Heather Chandler, is an absolute natural as the *‘Mythic B*tch.’*. But a notable special shout out to the unstoppable comedy duo of **Markus Södergren** as Kurt Kelly and **Beau Jackson** as Ram Sweeney, with impeccable synchronised timing and the willingness to commit to the bit. With unmatched vocals taking on the most iconic riffs in musical-theatre, comedic timing that will have you wheezing for air, this cast of *Heathers the Musical* is an absolute must-see.  If you’re looking for *Big Fun*, look no further than *Heathers The Musical* at The Arts Marble Arch for its strictly limited run, 52 performances only… so by the time you’re reading this you might have minimal chances left. Don’t blow it, book now.
