**Richard Kind** will take on the role of Max Bialystock in the West End production of *The Producers* at the [Garrick Theatre](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/venue/garrick-theatre-london) for a seven-week run, beginning 23 March. Kind is stepping into the role while **Andy Nyman** temporarily departs to open the world premiere of *The Psychic* at York Theatre Royal. **Nyman** is set to return to the show on 11 May. Kind is no stranger to Max Bialystock, having first played the character on Broadway in 2004 and reprising it for the 2012 Hollywood Bowl production. Now, he brings his interpretation of the iconic role to London audiences in this five-star revival.

The principal cast also includes **Marc Antolin** as Leo Bloom, **Trevor Ashley** as Roger DeBris, **Raj Ghatak** as Carmen Ghia, **Harry Morrison** as Franz Liebkind, and **Joanna Woodward** as Ulla. Directed by **Patrick Marber**, the production features a book by **Mel Brooks** and **Thomas Meehan**, with music and lyrics by Brooks. **Richard Kind**’s career spans Broadway and the West End, with credits including *The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife*, *Funny Girl*, *Dirty Rotten Scoundrels*, and *Guys and Dolls* at the Phoenix Theatre, showcasing his versatility and long-standing connection to comic theatre. **Kind** currently stars as Vince Fish in *Only Murders in the Building* and is known for roles in *Spin City* and *Mad About You*. His voice work includes A Bug’s Life, Inside Out, Cars, and Toy Story 3. **Richard Kind** said, “Mel Brooks is a genius. Every time I come back to The Producers, I’m reminded what a comic masterpiece it is - the jokes, the infectious energy of the story, the sheer audacity of it all - it still feels as fresh as ever. I’m so thrilled to be returning to the iconic role of Max Bialystock; this is a hat trick for me – they just can’t keep me away! I’ll be sure to keep Andy’s fedora warm for his return, and I’m excited to dive into rehearsals. It’s good to be back.” Book your tickets to [The Producers](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/musical/the-producers-tickets) today, and don't forget, with our new initiative *Advance Pick, *you can now save money when you book your tickets 8 - 12 weeks ahead!
