Mischief Theatre’s hit comedy *The Comedy About Spies* will return to the West End this summer for a strictly limited eight-week run at London’s Adelphi Theatre from 1 August to 26 September 2026.
The announcement was made last night at the [WhatsOnStage Awards](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/full-whatsonstage-awards-2026-winners-paddington-evita-jonathan-bailey-more) at the London Palladium, where the production won Best New Pla**y**. Co-writer **Henry Lewis** and producer **Kenny Wax** revealed the show’s West End return during their acceptance speech. The production has also recently been nominated for the [Olivier Award](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/olivier-awards-2026-full-list-of-nominees) for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play.
Following a sold-out [21-week season in 2025](https://www.londontheatredirect.com/news/the-comedy-about-spies-review-roundup), the critically acclaimed production will once again bring its fast-paced espionage farce back to the West End for a strictly limited engagement.
Written by original MISCHIEF members **Henry Lewis** and **Henry Shields**, and directed by **Matt DiCarlo**, *The Comedy About Spies* is set in 1960s London. When a rogue British agent steals plans for a top-secret weapon, CIA and KGB spies descend on the Piccadilly Hotel in pursuit of the missing file. Add a clueless young couple, an aspiring James Bond actor and a host of double agents, and the result is a mission that spirals spectacularly out of control.
