The show might be over for Disney's hit West End musical, but it's certainly not the last you'll see of your favourite street rat Aladdin because a new Lyric pantomime production of the classic fairytale is coming to the Big Smoke for Christmas 2021! You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why. Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie are comin' to London town!

The Aladdin 2021 panto is written by award-winning writer Vikki Stone and directed by holistic artistic director of OpenWorks Theatre, Abigail Graham.

Please be certain that you wish to attend the Lyric Hammersmith 2021 Aladdin pantomime before you purchase tickets as refunds and exchanges will not be offered to customers wishing to have booked for the now-closed Disney production.
Face coverings must be worn inside our theatre at all times during your visit, including during performances, excluding when eating and drinking. We understand some are exempt from wearing a mask, including those aged 11 and under. If you are exempt, we encourage you to please bring something to identify this (for example, a Sunflower lanyard or badge). If needed, we can provide a yellow lanyard at Box Office which will need to be returned upon departure.

Nachdem Kanzler Rishi Sunak schändlich angekündigt hatte, dass das Urlaubsprogramm für Theatermitarbeiter nicht verlängert wird und das 1,57-Milliarden-Paket erst im frühen Herbst an die Veranstaltungsorte ausgezahlt wird, sollte die Verschiebung der Aladdin-Pantomime das geringste Ihrer Sorgen sein. Es gibt viele Menschen ohne Arbeit!

Der größte Pantomimenproduzent Großbritanniens, Qdos Pantomimes, hat eine Frist gesetzt, wann entschieden wird , ob 34 seiner Weihnachts-Pantomimenproduktionen in diesem Jahr stattfinden oder abgesetzt werden. Wenn Qdos bis zum 3. August 2020 keine Klarheit von der Regierung erhält, wird es laut dem Qdos-Geschäftsführer Michael Harrison "mit dem Prozess der Auflösung der Saison beginnen müssen".
Die Nachricht kommt, nachdem die BBC berichtet hat, dass einige Pantomimenproduktionen beginnen, ihre Shows im Vorfeld der als "Make-or-Break"-Feiertagssaison für viele britische Theater bezeichnete Feiertage abzusagen. Bislang ist Aladdin 2020 im Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in London nicht betroffen, aber andere Veranstaltungsorte wie das Norwich Theatre Royal und Veranstaltungsorte in Welwyn Garden City und Buxton mussten bereits Stellen Sie ihre Panto-Produktionen ab.

Disneys Aladdin-Musical verabschiedete sich letzten Sommer im Prince Edward Theatre, wobei das praktisch perfekte Mary Poppins-Musical seinen Platz einnahm. Aber Fans von Prinz Ali können sich dieses Jahr zumindest mit der mit Spannung erwarteten Rückkehr der Aladdin-Pantomime freuen, stilisiert als Aladdin 2020! Die beliebte Off-West End-Pantomime läuft in der Feiertagssaison 2020 im Lyric Hammersmith in London!
