Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloid.

Chicago, the "sexiest musical ever" (Metro), is back at the Churchill Theatre Bromley for one week only starring Coronation Street's Faye Brookes (Dancing on Ice, Grease, Legally Blonde) as Roxie Hart, international recording artist and pop star Sinitta as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton, West End and TV star Darren Day (Joseph, We WIll Rock You, Doctors, Celebrity Big Brother) as Billy Flynn, and West End stars Djalenga Scott (Annie, Chicago, West Side Story) as Velma Kelly and Joel Montague (Waitress, Fat Friends, School of Rock) as Amos Hart.

Suite à la malheureuse nouvelle que Denis van Outen a dû quitter Chicago à cause d’une blessure découverte lors des répétitions, il a été annoncé aujourd’hui que le rôle de Velma Kelly sera repris par Laura Tyrer, qui rejoindra la production du West End la semaine prochaine. Son audition pour ce rôle sera également diffusée à la télévision nationale.

Une blessure inattendue avant les répétitions a contraint Denise van Outen à se retirer de la production de Chicago dans le West End. L’actrice née à Essex, qui a joué Roxie Hart dans la production du West End en 2001, devait initialement revenir dans le rôle de Velma Kelly du 24 septembre au 17 novembre.

Il vient d’être annoncé que Denise van Outen reviendra ce mois-ci dans la célèbre comédie musicale Kander and Ebb, Chicago . L’actrice anglaise avait initialement incarné Roxie Hart pour la production du West End de 2001 à l’Adelphi, avant de traverser l’Atlantique pour jouer le même rôle à Broadway en 2002. Elle est revenue à la production londonienne la même année et maintenant elle est revenue pour plus !

Duncan James rejoindra la distribution du West End de Chicago au Phoenix Theatre à partir du 10 septembre. Il rejoindra la star pop Alexandra Burke dans le rôle de Roxie Hart, Josefina Gabrielle dans celui de Velma Kelly, Mazz Murray dans celui de Mama Morton et Paul Rider dans celui d’Amos Hart. Chicago est prévu pour jouer dans le West End jusqu’au 5 janvier 2019.

Elle l’a bien cherché ! Il vient d’être annoncé que Mazz Murray remplacera Ruthie Henshall dans la reprise londonienne de Chicago. La nouvelle intervient après que Martin Kemp a récemment été choisi pour incarner le prochain Billy Flynn, remplaçant Cuba Gooding Jr après la fin de son contrat le 30 juin 2018. Également en raison d’une forte demande, la période de réservation pour Chicago a été prolongée.
