The brutality of family life and the subjectivity of memory are explored in the emotionally raw and richly funny Moonlight, directed by Olivier Award winner Lyndsey Turner, in which the past haunts the dark, lonely recesses of a dying father’s bedroom.
An East End criminal returns home from prison to find his room has been occupied by a mysterious woman with a secret. Set in the sweaty nightclubs and claustrophobic boarding houses of 1960s London, this is a rare opportunity to see the brilliantly witty and vivid Night School, directed by the inventive young director, Ed Stambollouian.

Aller voir une pièce de Pinter est, bien sûr, assez différent d’une soirée dans une comédie musicale spectaculaire du West End. On peut s’attendre à un théâtre qui fait réfléchir, un langage exceptionnellement spirituel et des intrigues énigmatiques qui ne deviennent jamais totalement claires à la fin. Cela ne veut pas dire que Moonlight and Night School n’a pas captivé le spectateur moyen cherchant simplement un divertissement léger (ou un peu). En effet, les productions mises en scène par Lindsey Turner (Moonlight) et Ed Stambollouian (Night School) dans le cadre de la série Pinter at the Pinter étaient accessibles, dynamiques et captivantes – une excellente introduction pour ceux qui découvrent le travail de Pinter, tout en capturant l’essence d’une comédie de menace de manière naturaliste et classique.
