Uncle Vanya production shots released for new West End version

Conor McPherson's new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's literary masterpiece Uncle Vanya is now in previews at The Pinter.

The star-studded cast of Uncle Vanya features Aimee Lou Wood as Sonya, Anna Calder-Marshall as Nana, Ciarán Hinds as Professor Serebryakov, Dearbhla Molloy as Grandmaman, Peter Wight as Telegin, Richard Armitage as Astrov, Rosalind Eleazar as Yelena, and Toby Jones as the eponymous Uncle Vanya.

Uncle Vanya at London's Harold Pinter Theatre marks Armitage's fist stage role in six years, having last starred in Arthur Miller's revival of The Crucible. McPherson, who adapted the Chekhov piece, is also currently enjoying a West End run of his Girl From the North Country adaptation, playing at the Gielgud Theatre until 1 February 2020. GFTNC is expected to open on Broadway later this year.

The piece marks Armitage's return to the stage six years after he appeared in the revival of Arthur Miller's The Crucible. McPherson's Girl from the North Country is currently running in the West End, and will open on Broadway later this year.
