Alistair So

Alistair So is an actor from Guildford, London, who’s playing first cover Raoul in the long-running production of The Phantom Of The Opera. He trained at the Guildford School of Acting and graduated with a 1st Class BA Honours Degree in Musical Theatre in 2017. Alistair is the recipient of the McGrath Scholarship.

 

Theatre:

He has appeared in several musicals in the past couple of years – Ching Ho in Dominic Shaw’s Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Ivy Arts Centre and Mick Hamilton in Nicholas Scrivens’ Steel Pier at the Ivy Arts Centre (2016), cover Lt Brannigan/swing in Samuel Wood’s Guys And Dolls at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre (2017), 1st cover Thuy in Laurence Connor & Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy’s Miss Saigon (Ireland and UK tour, 2017), 1st cover Lun Tha in Bartlett Sher’s The King And I at the London Palladium (2018), the lead role of Jimmy Winter in John Plews’ Nice Work If You Can Get It at Upstairs at the Gatehouse (2018), Charles/Lawyer/Newsvendor in Hannah Chissick & Matt Cole’s Amour at the Charing Cross Theatre (2019) and 1st cover Raoul in Cameron Mackintosh, Hal Prince & Mark Hedges’ The Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre (2020).

Other Credits:

Alistair’s work in other fields involve concerts, opera, film and workshops; ensemble in The Olivier Awards 40th Anniversary Concert (2016), guest soloist in Magic Of The Movies at the Electric Theatre (2018), and Rodgers And Hammerstein’s Cinderella (2019). He was in Pirates Of Penzance at the Harrogate Royal Hall (2015) and the 2018 film, The King And I.

In 2016, he was part of the workshop for Soul Music as Mr Clete, and in 2019 The Hip Hop Hoax as Rami “Precision”.
