The Sleeping Beauty tickets are now available to the ENB production of Kenneth MacMillian's stirring tale.
Fall under the spell of Kenneth MacMillan’s fairytale classic. The malevolent Fairy Carabosse curses Princess Aurora to 100 years’ slumber, by a single prick of her finger on her 16th birthday. Doomed by fate, only a Prince’s sweet kiss can break the spell and awaken the sleeping beauty.
The bewitching and dark fairy-tale is brought to life in Kenneth MacMillan’s exquisite production; “a masterclass in classical style” (The Guardian), with “some of the most ravishing steps in the 19th century repertory”. Visually stunning with Peter Farmer’s sumptuous set, and elaborate costumes by Nicholas Georgiadis, this gorgeously classical production features Tchaikovsky’s ravishing score played live by English National Ballet Philharmonic.
This revival coincides with the recent anniversary of MacMillan’s death, and follows the Company’s performances of MacMillan’s masterpiece Song of the Earth in the autumn/winter.

Captivating! The whole family loved every minute.

The ballet was wonderful - excellent costumes, well paced performance and a clear plot. I have given 4 stars as opposed 5 because I felt that 3hours was too long a performance. 2 and a half hours would have been long enough to understand the story. Also, 2 intervals was 1 too many. Could have been 2 and a half hours (or just 2) with 1 interval. I still think that the overall quality of the performance was excellent.

Such an incredible introduction to the theatre! My first ever West End show and boy, was it the perfect choice. The set, the ballerinas, the performance was all simply magnificent. The breaks were necessary as it can be quite overwhelming and quite distracting (I wanted to watch every person's part including the people who were just in the background and the orchestra beneath the stage!). The purple fairy/sleeping beauty (Shiori, hope I spelt that correctly); what a talented individual. Precision and poise. Every single one of them. Epic. Would recommend 14/10. Especially if it's your first show ever; great introduction to the duration/themes/expectations. I will be back! ????

The ballet itself was very impressive - almost impeccable - however there was no leg room and when I moved to the seat behind I could only see half the stage - This made it a very unenjoyable experience - I am not happy

This was the first ballet I ever attended and I found the dances to be incredibly repetitive. I found the moves and shapes to be amazing but frequently that impressive sequence would be repeated 3 times in a row. Maybe this is standard in ballet but for me it made the overall experience quite boring and I found myself checking the time for the end. A big shame as the dancers were clearly very skilled.
