Experience a larger-than-life musical parody of Stephen King’s universe in Shining in Misery: A King-Size Parody. Playing at the Other Palace Theatre as part of MTFestUK - a festival championing bold, original musical theatre - book your official tickets today!
Trapped by a brutal blizzard, five strangers converge on the eerie, glowing Overlook Hotel. There’s Jack, the hotel’s new caretaker; Wendy, his deeply unhappy wife; Danny, their psychic son; Annie, a volatile nurse; and Paul, the mysterious unconscious man she hauls into the infamous Room 217.
As the storm intensifies, the Overlook’s dark secrets awaken. The body count rises, the madness spreads, and the guests sing their way through a blood-soaked barrage of human, animal, and supernatural horrors. Will they find a way to harmonize through IT, take a Stand, or disappear into The Mist?
All performances as part of MTFestUK 2026 will be presented in an abridged workshop format, with scripts in hand.
