Published on 2 April 2026
From 29 June, Broadway star Bradley Gibson will be strapping on his sandals and flexing his way onto the Theatre Royal Drury Lane stage to make his West End debut as Hercules.
Gibson originated the role of Hercules at the world premiere production in New Jersey, before roaring across Broadway as Simba in The Lion King. With those impressive achievements already under his belt(ed toga), he’s sure to go the distance in London!
Commenting on today's announcement, Gibson said: “What an honour to step back into the role of Hercules which I had the enormous privilege of originating back home. To come full circle with this epic production, and make my West End debut at the glorious Theatre Royal Drury Lane is an absolute dream come true.”
The current company includes Luke Brady as Hercules, Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Phil, Craig Gallivan as Bob, Lee Zarrett as Charles, and Stephen Carlile as Hades alongside the much-loved Muses Leslie Beehann (Calliope), Candace Furbert (Thalia), Sharlene Hector (Clio), Brianna Ogunbawo (Melpomene), and Robyn Rose-Li (Terpsichore). The cast also features Kamilla Fernandes and Kimmy Edwards as Standby Muses.
Directed by Casey Nicholaw, the West End production follows the titular hero as he competes in a series of labours to claim his birthright and strength, while pitted against the villainous Hades.
The musical features all the much-loved numbers from the cult animation, including the Oscar nominated “Go The Distance”, alongside brand new material from Alan Menken and David Zippel.
Following a final extension, Hercules will conclude its time at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 5 September 2026.
