CAST ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DEATH AND THE MAIDEN

Joining Thandie Newton on stage at the Comedy Theatre from 13th October will be Tom Goodman-Hill and Anthony Calf.  The Ariel Dorfman play, Death And The Maiden is a 3 hander political drama that will be showing until 21st January 2012.

Thandie Newton, making her West End debut is joined by two very experienced stage actors in Tom Goodman-Hill who takes on the role of the husband to Newton's character, Paulina with Anthony Calf playing the Doctor suspected by Paulina as being the man who tortured her during her imprisonment as a political prisoner.

Tom Goodman-Hill has appeared in productions such as Pete and Dud: Come Again, as Peter Cook, and The Cosmonaut's Last Message To The Woman He Once Loved In The Former Soviet Union as Eric. He received an Laurence Olivier Award nomination for the Best Performance In A Supporting Role In A Musical award, for his performance as Sir Lancelot in the London production of Spamalot.  In 2009 he played Andrew Fastow, the former CFO of Enron in Lucy Prebble's ENRON at Chichester and the Royal Court Theatre. The production transferred to the Noel Coward Theatre in January 2010.

Anthony Calf known to television viewers from Holby City and to the many fans of the BBC's Pride and Prejudice (!) has been appearing on the stage for over a decade with regular roles at the Donmar and Royal Court.  His credits include productions of The Madness of King George III with the National Theatre and A Midsummer Night's Dream, The false servant Royal National Theatre and Rock’n Roll Duke of York's Theatre. He has been nominated as best actor in the Irish Times Theatre Awards 2008 for his work in Uncle Vanya Gate Theatre.  He was most recently on stage in The White Guard and The Power of Yes.

The revival of Death And The Maiden will be directed by Jeremy Herrin.
