New Hadestown cast revealed as West End musical reaches 1,000-show milestone

Hadestown has announced five new principal cast members who will join the award-winning West End production from 15 September 2026, as the musical celebrates its 1,000th performance at London's Lyric Theatre.

Singer-songwriter Nathan Sykes, best known as a member of chart-topping band The Wanted, will take on the role of Orpheus. Internationally acclaimed soprano Danielle de Niese joins as Persephone following her Olivier Award win for Outstanding Achievement in Opera earlier this year, while acclaimed stage and screen actor Shaun Dooley will play Hades.

Rising West End star Fayth Ifil has been cast as Eurydice, having previously appeared in Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and Just For One Day. Leading West End performer Malinda Parris completes the new principal line-up as Hermes, following roles in Hercules, & Juliet, Mary Poppins and Matilda.

They join Melanie Bright, Spike Maxwell and Lauran Rae as the Fates, alongside Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Gabriela Benedetti, Ollie Bingham and Sebastian Lim-Seet as the Workers. Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda, Jasmine Triadi and Milly Willows continue as Swings.

Featuring music, lyrics and book by Tony and Grammy Award winner Anaïs MitchellHadestown reimagines the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone. Blending folk, jazz, blues and contemporary influences, the musical has become one of the West End's biggest successes since opening at the Lyric Theatre in 2024.
