Following its critically acclaimed national tour, Far Gone lands at Brixton House for its London Debut. Playing a strictly limited run, book your official tickets today.
Set in Northern Uganda, Far Gone begins when Okumu’s village is brutally attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), shattering his childhood and changing his and his brother’s lives forever.
This deeply moving one-man play charts Okumu’s journey from innocence to child soldier, told with moments of humour, poetic language, and striking physical theatre. Written by and starring John Rwothomack, Far Gone draws on Rwothomack’s own near-abduction by the LRA. Through a powerful solo performance, the play explores the lasting impact of conflict on identity, family, and belonging, and the fragile resilience required to hold onto humanity in the face of violence.
Far Gone features depictions of extreme violence/death, gunfire and battle sounds, depictions of child abuse/trauma, discussion of displacement, grief/mourning and discussion of religion.
