What is Jane Eyre about?

A young woman’s fight for freedom, love and a life on her own terms.

Orphaned as a child and raised by her cruel aunt, Jane Eyre longs for a life beyond the walls of her unhappy home. When she becomes a governess at the mysterious Thornfield Hall, she meets its brooding master, Mr Rochester.

As intrigue turns to passion, Jane is drawn into Rochester’s world - but a devastating secret will force her to choose between the man she loves and the woman she wants to become.
