What’s Purple Snowflakes and Titty Wanks about?

Purple Snowflakes and Titty Wanks follows Sinead Murphy who has learnt the skill of reaching an orgasm via an electric toothbrush. She’s been getting with boys in the car parks of the church discos and she’s been doing so well in her exams that her teachers conclude she must be teaching. However, she’s also been struggling with keeping a big secret and has only one person she can to talk to about it.

This is a new play that discovers various themes including mental health. Whilst it touches on varying subjects of a serious nature that expand from mental health and eating disorders to rape, sexuality and grief, it’s not without a huge helping of Irish humour.

Who is emerging playwright Sarah Hanly?

Sarah Hanly is an up-and-coming writer from Dublin who now lives in London. She recently graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a master’s degree in Performance. Sarah first wrote and performed her first play Purple Snowflakes and Titty Wanks whilst she was training, but since has performed it at London’s Southwark Playhouse, The Leicester Square Theatre, Above the Arts Theatre and Theatre N16. After winning the Pinter Commission, Hanly has been granted a platform to bring a new play to the West End's Royal Court Theatre. Purple Snowflakes and Titty Wanks tickets are available now, but be sure to book soon as the run is extremely limited!
