We'll tell you as soon as tickets go on sale:

In the best tradition of great storytelling, two actors - Dan Gordon and Michael Condron - skilfully conjure up a host of colourful characters from the glory days of Belfast’s shipbuilding era to construct a poignant, funny and moving picture of a lost way of life, and of friendship, hardship, humour and heroism.

Already a proven hit with audiences and critics, “The Boat Factory” received glowing reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has just completed a hugely successful four week run in New York City where Irish movie actor Liam Neeson and acting legend Vanessa Redgrave were some of the show’s biggest fans. ‘The Boat Factory’ will premiere in London in July after a two week tour of Ireland.

Belfast 1947. The sun shines down on a post-war world. 16-year-old Davy walks through the gates of Harland & Wolff’s Titanic Shipyard to begin life as a carpenter’s apprentice. He soon discovers that the vast shipyard is like a city within the city, with 35,000 men working over 300 acres in 67 different trades. Regarded as the biggest and best there is, if you can dream it they can build it. Davy is taken under the wing of a cheeky young apprentice called Geordie and a lasting bond of friendship is forged as they adapt to their new life in the yard.

"the epitome of great storytelling...enthralling....this barebones two-hander about the Harland & Wolff shipyard proves that all you need is two Irishmen, an empty stage, and a story to make for a night of great theater" – Theatermania NYC

"how refreshing in our digital age to encounter what “The Boat Factory” skillfully conjures: craftsmanship, pride and dedication in the service of heavy industry" - New York Times

"a heartwarming play" - New York Post

“Dan Gordon’s brilliant two-man play constructs a picture of boat-building, male friendship, hardship, humour and heroism as carefully as the men they portray built the Titanic” - Belfast Telegraph

“Pitch perfect performances...and imaginative staging” – The Stage

“a remarkable piece of theatre which pays tribute to the workforce which wove Harland and Wolff’s shipyard into the fabric of Belfast life” – Edinburgh Guide

“You would be made of stone if you did not respond to Gordon’s love letter to the Harland and Wolff shipyard, the yard that dominated the landscape, in every sense, of the Belfast in which he grew up” – The Times
