Making its debut to West End at the Phoenix theatre is The Exorcist

“Oh please, Mother, make it stop! It's hurting.”

Winner of two Academy Awards, and widely considered the scariest movie of all time, the film adaptation of The Exorcist sparked unprecedented worldwide controversy when it was released in cinemas in 1973. Forty-five years after William Peter Blatty’s best-selling novel terrified an entire generation, The Exorcist is unleashed onto the West End stage for the very first time in a uniquely theatrical experience directed by award winning film and theatre Director Sean Mathias (Bent, No Man’s Land).

When the medical profession fails to provide answers to young Regan's strange symptoms her desperate mother Chris turns to a local priest for help. But before Father Damien can tackle what's before him, he must overcome his own shaken beliefs, as this fight is for more than just one girl's soul… Inspired by true events.

Hello to all readers. What a wonderful booking experience with London Theatre Direct. Great user friendly website to navigate around. However one point for this particular website - when purchasing my two tickets for The Exorcist shown at the Phoenix Theatre, I went for the option of an E-TICKET instead of box office collection. However, on the E-TICKET it states about 2 times that you must print your ticket on paper otherwise entry will not be permitted. This is absolute rubbish as from the definition of an E-TICKET and from what I did which was to show the 2 E-TICKET's upon arrival from my phone, I was allowed entrance. This should be changed by London Theatre Direct. However all in all it was a fabulous website to buy my tickets. In terms of the actual show, the horror and drama of this show kept me on edge continuously throughout just like the movie itself. I was hoping this show would go on for longer like 'The Woman In Black' but obviously not. The Exorcist at the Phoenix Theatre was majestic, magnificent and mesmerizing.

I loved it. The cast were great and the show was very atmospheric. I love the fact that it was very close to the original story.

Ray Knowles19th February

Very disappointing - acting was wooden, script was clumsy and special effects awful. I actually felt embarrassed for the cast in some parts.
