Patrick Barlow, writer of the Olivier winning West End smash hit 39 Steps, directs a staggering Nativity play, The Messiah, starring Hugh Dennis, Lesley Garrett, and John Marquez 3 stars of UK stage and screen.
A weary travelling theatre troupe comprised of two actors and an opera singer arrive by camel to the ancient city of London prepared to tell the greatest story ever. A cast of three embody a multitude of the world’s most well-known characters. Mary and Joseph, God and the archangel Gabriel, Herod and the ox come to the stage. This ridiculous and heavenly comedy is the perfect way to celebrate the Christmas season!
Hugh Dennis is a comic, award winning and multi-award nominated actor and writer. Known for being the star of BBC1’s Outnumbered and part of the BBC2 panel show Mock of the Week.
John Marquez is best known for his TV role as PC Joe Penhale in ITV’s Doc Martin as well as roles in Porridge, In the Club, and Death in Paradise. His most recent stage credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Once in a Lifetime.
Lesley Garrett CBE has enjoyed a career of more than 20 years in opera, musical theatre, concerts and more. She is Britain’s best-known soprano having lent her voice to The Barber of Seville, The Sound of Music, and Carousel.

Absolutely fantastic, How all 3 players managed not to corpse was amazing. It also led the audience through many emotions, with music perfectly sung without instruments. The audience participation was fun. It was like Cannon and Ball meets opera.
Carolyn Clements 6th January
Very funny. Hugh Dennis was excellent. Good use of audience participation too!
What a great comedy. Good fun!

Barry Cross1st January
Mildly funny in place, the Messiah resembles a panto. However, worth going to see for the silliness and also to hear Lesley Garrett sing.
Di Shaw31st December

Excellent, really funny show telling the nativity story. Very well played only using 3 players. Laughed uproariously.
