Doug Colling was a student of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He graduated with a BA in Acting in 2018 and is making his professional stage debut as Connor Murphy in the newest production of Dear Evan Hansen. Doug has previously been associated with the Nelson Youth Theatre Company and National Youth Drama School (NZ).
While at RADA, he played Pippi/Market Trader in Alice’s Wunderland directed by Jeremy Mortimer (radio), Ollie in Deadpan directed by Edward Hicks (short), Ensemble in Love And Information directed by Simon Dormandy, Balldeer/Lee Harvey Oswald in Assassins directed by Nona Sheppard, Ben in Broadway Bound directed by Geraldine Alexander, Stanhope in Journey’s End directed by Prasanna Puwanarajah, Andromache in The Women Of Troy directed by Shona Morris and Di Trevis, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing directed by Michelle Chadwick, Horner in The Country Wife directed by Cordelia Monsey, Alonso in The Tempest directed by James Bonas, Sourdust in The History of Titus Groan directed by Jeremy Mortimer (short) and Beach in Control directed by Jeremy Mortimer (radio). Doug has also appeared as Edward Lyons in the Hugh Neil directed Blood Brothers and Shane in the Tony Simpson directed film Kiwi Flyer.
